So I just went on a trip abroad that involved a lot of flying. There was lots of airport and engine noise from airplanes and brought my Audio Technica along for a test ride. Though I don’t consider myself a music expert or guru, I was able to enjoy the songs on my iPhone and hear my songs clearly. The one thing that really stands out about the Audio Technica ATH-ANC7Bs, and that makes it one of the best noise cancelling headphones, is that the distinct sounds of bass and trebles come out well. On my plane rides abroad these Audio Technicas did a great job filtering out the jet engine noise and roars and made them go away. Also I was basically flying for almost a whole day and found these headphones to be very comfortable, as a matter of fact I fell asleep with them on many times and when I woke up didn’t feel any itch or irritation around my ears.
As far as noise cancellation goes the ATH-ANC7B do an excellent job. If you put them on without music you will notice that they already do a good job dampening the noise around you. I was barely able to hear the engines of the plane once I put them on. These headphones are very well constructed for this purpose, they are designed to completely cover your ears and seal them, so that really keeps outside sounds from leaking in. When I turned on the music it was as if I was in a quiet room, I really couldn’t tell that there was an engine on right outside the plane, except for the feeling of the vibrations I felt under my feet.
