So I just went on a trip abroad that involved a lot of flying. There was lots of airport and engine noise from airplanes and brought my Audio Technica along for a test ride. Though I don’t consider myself a music expert or guru, I was able to enjoy the songs on my iPhone and hear my songs clearly. The one thing that really stands out about the Audio Technica ATH-ANC7Bs, and that makes it one of the best noise cancelling headphones, is that the distinct sounds of bass and trebles come out well. On my plane rides abroad these Audio Technicas did a great job filtering out the jet engine noise and roars and made them go away. Also I was basically flying for almost a whole day and found these headphones to be very comfortable, as a matter of fact I fell asleep with them on many times and when I woke up didn’t feel any itch or irritation around my ears.
As far as noise cancellation goes the ATH-ANC7B do an excellent job. If you put them on without music you will notice that they already do a good job dampening the noise around you. I was barely able to hear the engines of the plane once I put them on. These headphones are very well constructed for this purpose, they are designed to completely cover your ears and seal them, so that really keeps outside sounds from leaking in. When I turned on the music it was as if I was in a quiet room, I really couldn’t tell that there was an engine on right outside the plane, except for the feeling of the vibrations I felt under my feet.
These headphones are also designed well for ergonomics and economics, parts are easy to replace. One of the cool things about these headphones is that they pack neatly and compactly into my bags and luggage. They are made of good construction and materials so they did not get squished or smashed up. Batteries are easy to get to and swap out. The wiring is designed to be replacable and upgradable. If your wires end up being too short or worn out they can be pulled out easily and replaced, which is great because that means you just replace the wires and don’t have to buy another headphone.
The only downside I can say about these headphones is that I think there may be a noise leakage issue for other people who may be around you. If you play your music too loudly, as I like to do other people around you can hear the music, but I think you have this issue with many other headphones as well.
I was not disappointed with these noise cancelling headphones worked well during my trip. These Audio Technicas create excellent noise cancellation. I head the voices of my singers well and was able to hear all the instruments clearly. These headphones definitely made my long plane trip enjoyable and bareable, I don’t know what I would have done without them. I feel that for the price I paid these headphones are a great. Also I think in terms of price you can easily pay double or triple the price for fancier Bose that in my experience are practically just as good. If you want a good affordable quality headphone that won’t empty your wallet the Audio Technica ATH-ANC7B is a great options.
